Omega DLC Posterby ~MrMassakka

This is inspired by an idea that came up at BSN: to include both Miranda and Jack in one DLC that expands on their limited roles. As Omega is the only DLC that was very likely to arrive, we played around with ideas to include them there.

Unfortunately, this is very unlikely to happen in the already announced DLC... just a promotional poster for an idea from the fan community.

I feel the same way, they were both shorted. Why, who knows. I think they were always planning a fourth and resolution in 3 was never their goal.

Well, the way I see it the resolution was very good if you liked what the majority liked: Liara, Garrus, Tali, the Virmire survivor... they all have great arcs and conclusions. Only Jack, Miranda and other great ME2-squadmates were half-assed sidelined. What brings me to the conclusion that they simply didn't have the time. They only finished like the top10 off the popularity chart and made the rest cameos.

What resulted (at least imo) in bad writing: When the Shadow Broker could spend 24/7 on the Normandy and the hunted Cerberus officer isn't even offered to join.

I am not sure about the time, probably, but it may be as simple as with movies, you sideline last edition's supporting cast and bring in fresh blood. And let's be honest, Liara is on the ship because the writers have a thing for the blue alien. If they didn't, I wouldn't feel each time that they are trying to force that relationship on me.
And writing, yeah, it was not as good as Mass Effect 2. There were some very powerful moments in 3, more powerful than 2 in a couple of cases, but as a whole, 2 was absolutely the best.
We'll see what they have learned in Mass Effect 4 where synthesis is canon.......

And don't even get me started on that stupid rumor. Should Synthesis turn out to be canon as the "inevitable fate that always happens" I will finally quit Mass Effect. There is no better way of saying "writing will be just as bad and your choices won't ever matter"

Bioware is damned if they do, damned if they don't. Their saving throw will be Mass Effect 4, if it is at least as good as Mass Effect 2 with the combat upgrades of 3, they will survive. At this point, the "choice" thing is so buggered they have backed themselves into a corner, each ending would produce its own game, and, unless they have a genius plan, they cannot make four games.
But this is speculation, they have had 4 planned for quite some time, we will just have to wait and see.
